Python mock tests — 25 questions, 30 minutes

A timed paper, graded on the server against an answer key your browser never sees. You get a score, a percentile, and the list of topics you actually lost marks in.

Your record

The series

Every paper is 25 questions in 30 minutes. Questions are output prediction and error identification — the two kinds you can answer without running Python, which is what makes a timed paper possible at all.

How a sitting works

1 · The clock is the server's

When you press Start, the deadline is written to the database. Refreshing the page, closing the tab or sleeping your laptop gives you the same countdown back — not a new one. Answers that arrive after the deadline are graded honestly and marked late, which means they count towards no percentile and no certificate check.

2 · The answer key stays on the server

Your browser receives the questions with the correct option stripped out. The score is computed from the stored key, so nothing your browser says about its own score is ever read.

3 · The percentile has a floor

Percentile is shown once at least five learners have finished the same paper, counting each learner once by their best score. Below that it would be arithmetic on strangers, so the page says how many sittings it is waiting for instead.

4 · Not proctored — and we would rather say so

Every problem on PyDebug is public, so somebody determined can look one up in another tab. What the clock and the server do is make your score honest to compute; they do not turn a practice paper into an exam hall. Practice accordingly.

Do I need this?

If you are working towards a certificate: yes, for the top two. Gold needs a 70% or better paper and Diamond needs a top-10% one. Bronze and Silver do not involve a mock test at all. The free paper exists so that requirement is never behind a paywall.
